Mankato Area Mountain Bike Trails
Please do not ride when wet in spring/summer/fall and when above freezing in winter, or it will damage the trail. This results in more work for the volunteers fixing the mess, and less time building new stuff.
It's also really bad for the components on your bike ...
Kiwanis Mountain Bike Trail
Mankato
This nearly six mile trail is located at the Kiwanis Recreation Area just north of the Highway 169 and 14 intersection. There are two different loops at Kiwanis. The "Short Loop" shown in green is a one mile trail rated as beginner. The "Long Loop" is a 4.5 mile trail that is rated intermediate. There will eventually be more features put into the long loop for the more advanced riders, which will be on short offshoot trails.
Parking is available by the shelter in the paved lot, or there is a lower gravel lot. Follow the "Mountain Bike Trail" signs to the trailhead. At the trailhead you will find a skills/terrain park with many wooden features and teeters, as well as a beginner/kids loop around these features.
City Park Rules: Do not ride on any of the woodchip trails or woods north of the gravel road. Those areas are designated no bicycles allowed. You can receive a citation.
